Robert A. (Bob) Bewick, (age 75) passed away peacefully at his family farm and lifelong home near Sprague, WA on the evening of Sunday, May 23rd, 2021, exactly where he wanted to be. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Alice Bewick.
Born in Ritzville September 13, 1945, Bob attended Sprague schools for 12 years where he played many sports and graduated in 1963. He attended Yakima Valley College until 1965, then enlisted in the Air Force. He worked as an aircraft mechanic based in Bitburg, Germany for three years serving as Crew Chief for the T-39 Sabreliner, and also working in Transit Alert. He was discharged at the rank of Staff Sgt. In 1971 Bob received his license in Airframe and Powerplant Operation.
After his military service Bob reconnected with his high school sweetheart Sandra Lee Johnson in Phoenix, Arizona and they married in 1971.
In the early 1970s Bob worked for Senator Scott Barr running a cattle ranch, and then returned to Sprague to raise wheat and create the J and B Cattle Co. with his father, Joe Bewick. When Joe retired Bob carried on J&B with his brother- in-law, Ken Danielson. He took great pride in all his work and the pursuit of excellence.
When not working Bob enjoyed attending pro rodeo events with his wife and friends. He also cherished time with his family and grandchildren, fishing and hunting, and pack trips with his friends to the mountains of Washington and Idaho.
